Marissa and Logan's journey began one unforgettable night in 2016, thanks to the matchmaking efforts of Logan's brother, Cody, and Marissa’s friend, Amy. They met for the first time at Zanzibar, a spot that would later become the backdrop of many dates to follow. What started as a causal connection evolved slowly—both unsure of where things might lead.
In the first six months of their relationship, Marissa and Logan spent many nights meeting up at Zanzibar to play pool and unwind after long days. These casual evenings became a special routine for them, filled with laughter and easy conversation. It was during these laid-back moments that they really got to know each other, sharing the little details of their lives that slowly built a deeper connection.
There was a moment when Marissa began to question their relationship, unsure of where it was headed and if it would blossom into something more. Feeling uncertain about Logan's intentions, Marissa decided to consider other options. But that day, she was caught off guard by Logan’s response. He told her he was willing to give their relationship a shot—something deeper and more serious than the casual hangouts they had been having. In that moment, Marissa gained a new level of admiration for Logan. He didn’t push or pressure her but instead gave advice like a friend, recognizing that Marissa’s doubts stemmed from a lack of clarity about where they stood. His insightfulness, an amazing quality that continues to stand out to this day, provided the support she needed. That conversation was a turning point, marking the beginning of something more meaningful between them.
One sunny Saturday, Marissa was relaxing at the pool with friends when Logan texted her from his family’s home in Lake Havasu, asking why she hadn’t joined him on his vacation. When she replied, “I wasn’t invited,” Logan’s response was simple yet profound: “You’re invited now.” Without (much) hesitation, Marissa booked a flight and was with Logan and his family just hours later. It was one of the most spontaneous things she had ever done for a man, and it left Logan excited about where their relationship was headed. Marissa was the first woman he had ever introduced to his extended family, and seeing how naturally she connected with them made him even more sure about their future together.
A few months later, Logan awkwardly declared that Marissa was his girlfriend on the way to his 10-year reunion. For Logan, this was a huge step. This moment was instrumental in laying the foundation for their relationship as it marked the beginning of their commitment to truly explore their connection. It was a turning point where their relationship deepened into something much more serious.

Marissa had been anticipating a proposal, even telling her sister Sabrina that if Logan didn’t propose by the end of the year, she would take matters into her own hands and do it herself. That morning, Logan handed Marissa her gift, a beautifully wrapped present (Logan never wraps gifts). Under the wrapping paper was a box with a photo of them from early in their relationship, on the back of the photo was the start of a self-curate riddle that Logan had written. Inside this box, revealed the same- another box and another photo with another piece of a riddle. This goes on until the final element was revealed- a cryptex. After debunking the code… inside was a beautiful ring and a question that would dictate the rest of their lives.
Obviously Marissa said YES, or else we wouldn’t be here today! It was an unforgettable day, filled with love, joy, and the warmth of family and friends.
Now, as they look forward to the next chapter and their lives together, Marissa and Logan are excited to celebrate their love with everyone who has been a part of their eight year to everlasting journey.
